About

We are Penn State Smeal’s first student organization focused on international philanthropy!

From May 11th – May 17th, we will be traveling to Panama to provide complimentary consulting services to 3 local businesses, while also aiding in the development of a community bank. In addition, to best prepare students for this brigade, we will be hosting the interactive and professionally led “Business for Change Curriculum” throughout the fall semester. We invite you to attend our weekly meetings every Monday from 7:00 – 8:30 PM in Business Building 103. This is an excellent opportunity to network with a diverse group of impact-driven individuals, gain insights from C-suite executives and World Bank consultants, and contribute to global change while enhancing your intercultural competencies.

Upcoming Meetings:

Location: Business Building 120

Date/Time: Mondays 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Message from the President

Our organization possesses two main goals: to maximize the professional and personal development of our Penn State volunteers and to maximize the impact that our organization has on a global scale. This is ultimately accomplished through our yearly "brigades" where we travel to provide pro-bono consulting services to small businesses across the developing world.

In preparation for these brigades, we support consistent growth and preparation throughout the school year. For example, we provide direct access to industry leaders and professional exercises to introduce students to foundational business concepts, cultural sensitivity, and project management. We also focus on grounding each of these topics in the ideals of service-based leadership, reflecting on how to leverage such business concepts to promote equality in the global economy at large.

Being involved with Global Business Brigades since I was a freshman, it is an honor to provide this level of opportunity to Penn State. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the email above, and I look forward to meeting you as we support the development of Penn State students as well as communities across the world.
